Wyoming is rich in history, particularly when it comes to the pioneers, the Old West, the frontier days, and all those iconic pieces of US history - and the Campbell County Rockpile Museum can give you an even deeper insight into the history of the region, with particular focus on the people and culture of Campbell County.
The Campbell County Rockpile Museum preserves and exhibits the history of the region, and northeast Wyoming through its exhibits and programs.
This free entry museum displays a number of artifacts and items that bring the history to life, including early printing equipment, to saddles, and even household items and clothing from the pioneer days.
Also on display are guns that actually go back as far as the Great Sioux War, as well as numerous Indian artifacts and arrowheads, and even wagons and fossils!
Don't miss the fun dress up area for kids, with a host of hands-on activities for both kids AND adults to engage in!
The actual museum complex itself is comprised of two large buildings, as well as several outdoor exhibits. The main building has four exhibit areas, along with an Annex Building with larger exhibits and structures including the Ranch Blacksmith Shop and Homestead Shack.
The Campbell County Rockpile Museum also features two rural schoolhouses on the grounds, plus a boxcar, windmill and horse-drawn farm equipment - everything you need to take you back in time, and re-live Wyoming's fascinating history!
