Located in Old Sacramento, the California State Railroad Museum is a complex of historic facilities and unique attractions. Widely regarded as North America's most popular railroad museum, there is something here for everyone! So why not head out and enjoy it for your next family day out, and see for yourselves!
At the California State Railroad Museum, you can explore regularly varying exhibits that cover a wide range with railways as a connecting theme. Guided tours of both the exhibit and railway spaces are available, so if you have lots of questions, or want to know more, you can just ask!
During your time at the museum, you can see real engines and carriages in real life, as well as great artifacts that tell the stories in a more personal way!
Some exhibits will be hands-on, like being able to board a mock-up of a high-speed train, or you can learn about the more intricate part of railway history, such as how they used to communicate with each other.
You might even just learn about the actual history of the railroad itself! How did it all begin with Abraham Lincoln? Better visit to find out!
Did we mention the museum also offer REAL train rides too? Whether it's a weekend trip, or first class fun, check out the options to actually enjoy the trains that you have learned so much about.
