Here's a quick quiz! (We love quizzes!)
What is the third OLDEST zoo in the US? Give up? Buffalo Zoo of course! This historic zoo was first opened all the way back in 1875, so that's a lot of family fun to be had!
The 23.5 acres that make up the zoo are home to some of the world's most beautiful, weird, wonderful and endangered animals that we have on the planet.
What's great about Buffalo Zoo, os that the animals move freely in their natural enclosures, with pools, streams, and other natural-like features so they can feel like they are back in their original habitats.
Creatures from all across the globe now see Buffalo Zoo as home - want to hear some of them! Course you do!
There are beautiful mammals - from the endangered Siberian tigers and Asian elephants, to the sweet pygmy zebus. (Strange name aren't they!)
Reptiles are of course covered too with lizards, tortoises and alligators (if you're lucky you might spot the white alligator!)
If you love those slimy amphibians, then you're in luck because there is a HOST of beautiful frogs and toads - from those poison arrow frogs to the Puerto Rican crested toads. Some of the colors are amazing! And of course, there is a host of birds for those winged creature lovers in the family.
In addition to the beautiful animals which kids can learn all about, there are family workshops which are perfect for adding something exciting to your visit, and even sleep overs where you can stay the night with the animals!
Buffalo Zoo also have cool events, like Ferocious Fridays over summer, and Zooper Saturdays where it's all about the endangered animals.
Animal fun all round in Buffalo - don't forget your camera!
