About this activity

Art is a wonderful thing, and when kids experience the art world it can open up their creativity tenfold!

The Biggs Museum of American Art is dedicated to all things art - and it's all American art. After all, there is such incredible art being produced in the USA alone, it makes sense to have an entire museum for it!

The art within the museum covers a range of styles, genres, and artists. In fact, it houses collections from Delaware, as well as the nation, from right back to the 1700s! That's a lot of art to enjoy!

The Biggs Museum of American Art will be able to teach kids, not only about art, but about history, and the culture of the USA. And that's a great thing to learn!

The younger kids will be able to walk around and appreciate the colors, and know what they like and don't like. The older kids will be able to begin conversations on why they like something, and really begin to notice the difference in techniques, and colors, and styles.

It's the perfect family day out if you want a relaxed, cultural experience.

The collection at the museum is permanent, but the exhibitions rotate, so there is always something new for you to explore on your next visit.

The exhibitions cover an incredible variety of topics. They could be on a particular artists, or they could be on a particular technique, such as pottery or tapestry.

The Biggs Musuem of Art aims to educate, inspire, and captivate, so why not make a day of learning and creativity. You never know - you might just have a future Picasso in the family!
