Located on one of Northeast Florida's unique sea islands, Big Talbot Island State Park is a beautiful destination for the nature loving families. The park is primarily a natural preserve which visitors head to so they can enjoy a day of nature study, and bird-watching. Any budding photographers, you will be in your element too!
For those active kids in the family, why not get those hiking boots those hiking boots out and explore the diverse island habitats? You can head out to Blackrock Trail to the shoreline, Big Pine Trail to the marsh or Old Kings Highway and Jones Cut through the maritime forest.
A visit to the Bluffs can see you enjoy a picnic at one of the pavilions overlooking the water, or perhaps you want to just take your time and enjoy a stroll down the trail to Boneyard Beach.
Still feeling active? Why not bring a bike, or some in-line skates and yes even strollers, as there are nearly 3 miles of off-road paved multi-use trail with the Timucuan Trail. Make sure you stop along the way and read all about the park's natural and cultural resources at the interpretive panels!
Kayak Amelia on the island also offers a number of guided paddles, as well as special focus paddles.
