History is more than just the major wars, presidential history and planet-changing events. History happens everywhere. On every street, in every town. Antelope Valley Rural Museum captures the fascinating history of Antelope Valley in Los Angeles County.
This nonprofit museum has a number of exhibits that are filled with artifacts that have been collected, preserved and resorted to give all those who visit a sense of what Antelope Valley was like.
Residents will love seeing the place they know so well in a different light, and visitors from further afield will be introduced to a place that they may never have thought about historically.
The Rural Olympics Hall of Fame is a popular exhibit which honors those with extraordinary contributions to the Rural Olympics, and the AV Community Queens honors young women that have been elected each year.
The museum also have a list of projects they are always working on, with plans and goals, including restoration of fascinating items such as old Fords, old Militia and windmills.
Kids will love seeing all the old working machinery and transport up close.
Image the stories and faces behind every artifact you see as you walk around the museum. History can be brought back to life through imagination, and the people who once called Antelope Valley home will be remembered.
A beautiful and quaint museum.
