A visit to the National Airline History Museum is a trip through the aviation history books, and really is a step back in time.
Located at the Historic Downtown Airport, in Kansas City, Missouri, this airline museum takes you back to a different and more graceful age of air transportation, via a collection of photographs, artifacts, printed material, and audio/visual displays that will bring you the true flavor of an age gone by.
There are also SO many actual aircraft that you can come face to face with, all with incredible stories behind them (and some that have actually gone into space!)
You can see the a full scale replica of the TWA Moonliner - a rocket that was intended to carry civilians into space (how amazing would that be?), or it might be the very first Boeing 727 that might interest you!
Go right back through the history books to one of the Glenn Martins' designs (Martin established one of the first aircraft factories back in 1909 - only 6 years after the Wright Brothers first flight!) or just marvel at how aircraft has changed over 100 years.
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at flying yourself? Just as well the National Airline History Museum features simulators that allow you to actually experience being a pilot without having to leave the ground!
These simulators can transform you into a jumbo jet pilot, or have you at the controls of a WWI single engine bi-plane. Experience simulator flyers can even take to skies in a Lockheed Super G Constellation!
So fly into your next family day out at the National Airline History Museum, and fly through the history books and see some of the most iconic aircraft ever to hit the skies!
