About Strathaven Park

Strathaven Park is a beautiful place to visit and a great day out for the whole family. It's in a beautiful and peaceful area and combines two small parks which are joined together.

The two small parks are the John Hastie Park which stretch from the town of Strathaven and the George Allan Park which is home to the boating pond and miniature railway.

At the park you'll find vast open spaces, colourful flower beds and the Powmillon burn which is an attractive feature flowing to meet the River Avon. Throughout the summer you can enjoy boating on the pond and explore the water or head out on a railway journey. There's lots of fun to be had on the putting green and spaces to relax and play some ball games.

The park also hosts some local events, including the famous duck race and the annual balloon festival.

There are lots of play area for children to burn off some energy too! The railway is Scotland's oldest miniature railway operates seasonally.

Bring a picnic, admire the bandstand, wander the sensory garden or just sit back and relax and discover what this park has to offer!
