About this activity

Dudley Zoo and Castle is one of the most popular attractions in Dudley, West Midlands.  The site covers 40 acres and is home to a wide variety of animals, including some rare and endangered species. The zoo has been open since 1937 and is a great destination for families, animal lovers, and history buffs.

Dudley Zoo is a great place to see a diverse range of animals, from big cats and primates to birds, reptiles, and other mammals. The zoo is home to more than 1,300 animals from over 200 different species, including Asiatic lions, Sumatran tigers, giraffes, meerkats, red pandas, lemurs, and many more. Visitors can enjoy close-up encounters with some of the animals, such as feeding the sea lions or walking through the Lemur Wood.

One of the highlights of the zoo is the animal talks, which happen everyday at set times, fcheck webnsite fore more details. These talks are an amazing way to gain a deeper understanding of the animals, and ask any questions you might have about them.

Dudley Castle is an impressive medieval fortress that sits atop the hill overlooking the zoo. The castle dates back to the 11th century in 1070, four years after the famous battle of hastings that all children learn about at school. It has been the site of many battles and sieges over the years, for example in 1644 and 1666. This historic castle has played an important role in the history of the region.
