The reason I gave it 1 star is because as our boat was headed into the rapids for the first time our guide told us to hold on and “put your chin in the air like Queen Elizabeth.” Well, stupidly, I did. I ended up coughing and choking after a power jet of water to the face almost drowned me. I should have been ducking for cover. Why I listened to her, I don’t know. I seriously could not breathe for a while and I was stuck enduring the five or six more drenchings that followed. They asked the group to yell if they were having fun and I yelled “no” but no one paid attention. They sell video of the ride – the cost is less if you buy it first, but it’s only it’s only about 2 minutes long. The changing rooms are crowded and icky. I’m writing this to help others have a more realistic understanding of these boat rides – I wish I had known better.
