Warsaw Caves Conservation Area is nestled in the valley of the Indian River, the conservation area offers a range of recreational opportunities the entire family or other group can enjoy!Warsaw Caves has a wide range of outdoor and adventure opportunities which include: hiking, spelunking (cave exploration), bird & nature observation, fishing, canoeing, and swimming.
After exploring the caves & hiking trails take a splash on the Sandy Beach area. The shallow waters of the Indian River make it an ideal spot for children to play and offer a great afternoon of fun. You can also do a spot of fishing from the dock at the canoe launch or paddle a canoe down the Indian River where you can fish the length between the canoe launch and the dam in the village. There's a huge variety of fish in the river including perch, sunfish and bath. The river flows can change throughout the season so becareful if the waterway flow increases.
There are 15km of trails that go through the forests and plains to explore. From more beginners routes to expert, there's a trail for everyone. You may even spot some wildlife along the way! You can also of course explore the caves where there are seven in total! The caves were formed thousands of years ago at the end of the last ice ages, so it's a real taste of history to discover!
