Museums are always an interesting place to visit with the family, and sometimes you come across a museum that gives you a history lesson in something that is culturally fascinating - and the Reynolds-Alberta Museum is one of them!
The Reynolds-Alberta Museum is located in Wetaskiwin, and has a great collection of cars, airplanes, tractors and industrial machines. Tour the museum’s gallery, climb into a pink Buick convertible and take your photo to send to your friends, watch cartoon clips in the indoor drive-in, or make a craft to take home!
Kids love this place – and you will too!
One for the slightly older kids to process, but one where the younger kids can appreciate the fun and fascinating exhibits.
As well as the indoor exhibits, did you know that the Reynolds-Alberta Museum also has some pretty cool aircraft outside - REAL ones!?
They have a one of a kind 1929 Duesenberg Phaeton Royale, as well as a 1943 Douglas DC-3 AND a Bucyrus Class 24 dragline. It's actually from 1917, and the WORLD's older dragline - now THAT is cool!
If you want to try something REALLY challenging and fun during your time at the museum, you can actually book an Open Cockpit Bi-plane Adventure with an exciting 10 minute ride in a 1939 Waco, or you can take a behind the scenes tour of the Collections Storage Facility (and see things not on public display) OR you can even take a vintage vehicle tour!
And who said museums might be boring!
The Reynolds-Alberta Museum is a great way for the family to really see history up close, and you never know - it might bring out the future pilot in you!
