If you are wanting a fascinating day out where you can learn all about history and culture, that also offers fun kids activities, you might want to head to the Quesnel Museum in well, Quesnel! This great museum is filled with exhibits that will teach kids all about the history of uesnel, and Canada, as well as the cultures that make the area what it is today.
Each exhibit covers a different topic, so make sure you stop by all of them to enjoy a really diverse experience too. Through three galleries, the artifacts showcase the comprehensive history of Quesnel - and you might just be surprised what you learn!
If you visit Village Streets, vignettes re-create some of the businesses within the community, and also display the extensive artifact collection of the museum. The displays include a hospital, a general store, and even a one room school house. Kids - how different is this classroom to what you are used to? Pretty different we imagine! You can even see a dentist, the Royal Bank, and a barber shop.
Want to see something really unusual? Visit Mandy - the Museum's haunted doll! Also check out the Discovery Center where kids can explore with lots of hands on activities.
In the Centennial Gallery, you can follow the economic history of the area, and how the family had to work together to make it through the winter, and in the third gallery you can explore the history and culture of the Dakelh people, including their skilled leather work.
Also at the Quesnel Museum, you can see actual artifacts from the Titanic, learn about the 1859 Gold Rush, and kids can even play dress up! A fun museum for the family in British Columbia!
