History is ready to be discovered and explored at the North Bay Museum!
Located in the historic Canadian Pacific Railway station, the North Bay Museum is home to a range of exhibits that aim to inspire the discovery of the people and places of North Bay’s past and present! How exciting!
North Bay Museum features a blend of interactive and artifact based exhibits designed to appeal to family members of all ages!
Did you know that North Bay’s rich history begins with the Nipissing people? Then, this history progresses through time with a focus on local industrial and military history. Kids can see model trains circle the museum on a track that runs above displays, and you can even can try a variety of interactive displays including a historic gas pump model! How fun!
Also located on the first floor, you can see exhibits that cover topics such as tthe Fur Trade, with a focus on the Nipissing people, voyageur life, and the local fur trade including Fort Laronde.
The Military exhibit outlines North Bay’s contributions to WWI and WWII, and also within the modern era.
Kids can learn about how the Lumber Industryexplores the development and also features artifacts from the John Fraser shipwreck!
Then kids can also discover the development of the railway in North Bay with a focus on the history of the Canadian Pacific Railway station!
On the second floor, kids can literally walk through history as they step back in time in an immersive exhibit bringing visitors onto the streets of North Bay’s downtown during the 1920s–1940s.
Kids can see displays including replica storefronts based on historic downtown businesses, as well as a theatre, and more!
