The Mennonite Heritage Village brings to life the Mennonite way of life from the 16th century to present day. You can literally re-live history in real time! This 40 acre site spreads out from a village street, in a pattern reminiscent of Mennonite villages found throughout Southern Manitoba at the turn of the century.
You can just imagine the sounds, the smells, and the people that would have been walking the same ground you are now!
During your time at Mennonite Heritage Village, you can taste traditional ethic fare at the Livery Barn Restaurant, before heading to the classic Mennonite housebarn!
Kids, how different do you think life would have been over a century ago?
The village also has a fully operational Dutch windmill during the summer season.
Kids can explore historic and heirloom treasures from Russia, Poland, and all the way to Canada within the Main and Garhand Ens galleries.
There is always something new to explore! The Mennonite Heritage Village have changing annual themes as well as temporary exhibits, along with brand new artifacts that are donated every single year! All of these celebrate the Mennonite heritage and culture. Great for kids learning!
Throughout summer on their Festival days, they host a number of activities great for the family with demonstrations, wagon rides, bread baking and more!
