Bellevue House was once the home of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's first prime minister. Restored to the 1840s period, and staffed by costumed interpreters, the house and gardens are kept much as they would have been during the time that Macdonald lived here with his wife and infant son.
Explore the complex legacy of the first prime minister and learn more about Candian history. Visitors are invited to explore the colonial origins and the impacts of government policies in the creation of the country. The heritage grounds offer an experience too, with colourful orchards, gardens and a coll breeze off Lake Ontario!
Wander the site and engage in the programs which feature costumed guides on the grounds, kitchen garden and orchard. In the centre, you explore more of the Macdonald's history and share ideas in an interactive photo booth.

There's also a an Zplorers program too where the young ones ages 6- 11 will be given a booklet with fun ideas and experiences to try out whilst you visit. Once complete, you'll receive a certifcate and a gift!
