At the site there is a creel, which is thought to be the only surviving examples of its type in use today. You'll also see a warping mill in the background which is thought to be over 130 years old. The sheds historic layout was designed to fit a large number of looms in a small space.
You'll also see the original mill wheel which is build on Frog Island around the River Test. The water has provided the mill with power for over 200 years and on the top floor you'll see how the interconnecting gears and shafts transmit power to the silk winding frames.
After you've explored the mill, you can take a stroll around the gardens and enjoy the views of the river. You can pick up a nature trail from the shop which colourful markers around the gardens that help you to explore and spot some wildlife too.
They have lots of events and changing exhibitions throughout the year, so make sure to check the website before you visit so you know what's happening.
