Weston super Mare Museum delves into the history of West-super-Mare and the museum is housed in a beautiful and historic building as it tells the story of the town and the surrounding area from prehistoric times, to the present day.
The museum is free admission, so it's a great place to visit with the family, whether you already live in the area or just passing by! You can join one of their regular heritage talks on a range of subjects to learn more from the exports.
For the little ones, you can pick up a mini explorer backpack which are designed for toddlers and for children with SEN to help explore the galleries with fun objects. There are also themed memory boxes containing real and replica items for use in faciliated sessions too.
Learn about the prehistoric creatures that roamed the earth and see the tools and treasures that were left behind. Explore how the town went from a small fishing village to what it is today and admire the sculptures, artwork and portraits by well-known artists.
Discover the resort from the Victorian era and experience some nostalgia and explore the seascape area which contains a boat belonging to a local fisherman and see the changing photographs throughout the years.
