The West Somerset Railway is the longest heritage railway in England and it's 20 miles long through the Somerset countryside and coast. It's full of fascination whether you're wanting to ride back in time or discover more about the industrial heritage.
Their are ten unique stations that are linked by the twenty mile journey, and there's hours of explorations to be had! You'll pass through the Quantock hills and see the cliffs and coast of the Bristol Channel with views as far as South-Wales!
There are many stations to visit along the line including Bishops Lydeard, Crowcombe Heathfield, Stogumber, Williton, Watchet, Dunster and many more!
Bishops Lydeard Station is the southern terminus and you'll also find the station shop selling a range of model railway equipment and other souvenirs to remember your trip by.
At Watchet station there's adventure to be had, with lots to do in the ancient harbour town. The station building overlooks the harbour and there's plenty of streets to wonder through with shops and cafes. There's also footpaths and trails and there's even a walkway out to the lighthouse!
Make sure to check out the wesite before you visit as there's lots of seasonal events all year round for the family!
