Kids, do you believe in time travel? What if we told you that at Wardown House, Museum and Gallery you can actually travel back to the Victorian times!? Well, not literally, but it feels like you're there!
Wardown House, Museum and Gallery is a beautiful and impresive Grade II listed building situated in the stunning and relaxingt grounds of Wardown Park.
The home was actually where the Scargill family used to live, then it became a World War I military hospital, and today, the house is a museum. (Which is great because YOU get to visit!)
But Wardown House isn't just any museum! This house really does feel like you are transported back in time, to a Victorian family home. It's a great way for kids to actually experience history, rather than read it from a book!
Every room in the house tells a story, with interactive displays helping the educational process. The whole property and grounds is a treasure trove of local curiosities (and is also home to the largest hat industry and headwear collection in the UK!)
Don't miss the Morning Room art gallery featuring inspiring exhibitions year round, plus there is a dining room too (with Afternoon Tea!)
So kids, are you ready to actually live history? Let's go!
