To visit or not to visit....THAT is the question!
Well, when it comes to the iconic Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon, we know the answer. YES of course!
A visit for the charming and picturesque Stratford-upon-Avon wouldn't be complete without a visit to William Shakespeare’s childhood home, where it all began!
During your time in this beautifully historic attraction, the whole family can hear tales of Shakespeare’s family life and how they would have lived back in Tudor times. Do you think YOU would have loved to have lived all those centuries ago?
You can also get up close to objects from the Trust’s world class collections as you discover how the extraordinary playwright continues to shape our lives today.
In the Birthroom you can see a 16th century oak boarded chest decorated with a striking lattice pattern of scratched lines. Also in the Birthroom you can see an Oak Cradle that is very likely the type Shakespeare himself would have been put in as a baby!
In the Kitchen Storeroom you can see an actual cooking pot that would have been used during Shakespeare's time.
Don't miss the Exhibition Room, where a fun item is the Falcon Inn Chair! Shakespeare reputedly sat in this chair whilst taking part in a drinking competition at the old Falcon Inn!
A facsinating and not-to-be-missed experience!
