About Clitheroe Castle Museum

Clitheroe Castle Museum stands high on Castle Hill, in the shadow of the Castle Keep, an image which has dominated Clitheroe's skyline for over 800 years. The castle and grounds are open daily.

On your visit, you'll get panoramic views of Ribble Valley's landscape, so climbing to the top is worth it! The museum is located in the former Steward's House and you'll be transported through millions of years of local history. 

Your visit will start with the formation of the landscape we see today and you'll learn why the valley is a have for unique wildlife. You'll move through the galleries as you'll be told of the stories of the caste and surrounding areas. From local industry to heroes and lengends, thee's lots of interactive elements to make your visit enjorable. 

There are lots of touchscreen animals and sound points too which the children will love!

Explore the treasures and aretefacts and learn all about the history of the castle and walk the grounds too!
