Basing House was the largest private house in Tudor England and has some amazing stories around every corner. You'll be taken along the journey of some fascinating history and view the sites and step inside.
You'll start your visit at the visitor centre where there is a display introducing Basing House and you'll view the site and building from afar. You can step inside the battle-scarred Great Barn and continue past the meadows to the ruins of the main house in Old Basing.
The ruins are set on 14 acres and there's lots to explore, walk and opportunities to sit and have a picnic! Visit the Jacobean walled garden and head inside the museum to discover the full story of the house. Make sure to take in the views from their platform with views across Basingstoke.
For the children, headout on a Basing Mouse activity trail. The house also runs lots of events, outdoor theatre, workshops and activity days, so make sure to check the website before you visit so you know what's happening.
Take a pit stop in the visitor centre for a drink or an ice-cream and explore at your own pace with the whole family!
