Located within the historic walls of the Bank of England Museum in Threadneedle Street, the museum takes you on a journey to discover the history of the bank and the banknotes themselves. You'll learn about money and the economy too!
You'll discover what the Bank of England does today and even pick up a real gold bar and try your hand at cracking the safe! They'll give you activity sheets for various ages to help you explore the museum and there are lots of child-friendly and interactive activities throughout the museum.
You'll learn about why people started using paper money and discover the secrets of why banknotes are so difficult to copy and why the buiilding is one of the world's largest stores of golds! You'll go on a journey and explore how they work to keep prices stables and see what it would have been like 200 years ago.
Travel through 300 years of history and discover the events and people that have shaped the bank over the year and even the historic building itself!
