We just love animals, and so does Zoosiana: Zoo of Acadiana! For over 20 years this charming zoo has been giving families an animal-tastic day out, that started as a small menagerie in the early 1990s.
Now, you can come face to face with over 750 animals that are represented by over 130 species. You don't need to even travel out of Louisiana to see the animals of the world - they have come to you!
Zoosiana is not only a great way for kids to learn all about these animals, their habits and their habitats, but also they can learn about conservation - an invaluable lesson!
There are 45 acres to explore, so you can really make a day of it! There are walking paths covered in natural shade, and keep an eye out for the old Live Oak trees!
There are amazing animal encounters that you can experience too, including the giraffe feeding station where you can hand feed those beautiful creatures! There is a parakeet feeding station too, and a petting zoo where llamas, goats, chickens and more cute domestic animals can eat right out of your hand!
Did we mentoin that Zoosiana also has a safari train ride that can take you through the large savanna? Here, all things hoofed can be found, including oryx, deer and zebra!
With additional play areas for the kids, including the fun Jungle Lodge Playground, and yes - even a dirt mound - it's no wonder families keep going back to this WILD Louisiana animal-tastic zoo!
