About this activity

If you just LOVE nature, and learning, and history, then you will love Tyler Arboretum, which began lie as a collection of over 1,000 ornamental plants collected for scientific study.

Today you get to explore one of the oldest arboreta in the entire NE United States, with 650 acres of plants, buildings, and hiking trails!

You can spend the day among the heritage plants, as well as the historic buildings, and even grab those walking shoes and take on the 17 miles of tracks through wetlands, meadows and woodlands.  Don't forget to keep an eye out for the wildlife too!

There are a host of fun things to do with the kids at the arboretum too, including the house that Goblins built! (Goblins don't do things very well, so it's a bit crooked!)

They can explore the small cabin in the trees, or venture down a woodland path to find villages, castles, and hamlets just for those gnomes and fairies! Maybe you will spot one!

A favorite for kids is the vegetable demonstration garden, where they can see exactly where carrots and lettuce come from, and discover the wonders of growing your own food!

Let's not forget the host of other garden and plant wonders for the parents at this fun Pennsylvania day out for the family.

So get those green thumbs ready, it's time to experience Mother Nature at her best!
