Animals, nature, gardens, a museum, a forestry, all this and more at the stunning Turtle Bay Exploration Park!
Set across 300 acres, Turtle Bay celebrates far Northern California, offering a vibrant gathering place where the community is strengthened through education, cultural engagement and economic growth.
Are you excited to explore?
Let's start with the museum! Turtle Bay Museum is the hub of the Exploration Park experience, and will be the first stop on your day of adventure.
The museum features permanent exhibits about the region, as well as changing exhibits telling stories from all around the world. Here, the worlds of art, science, forestry, history and horticulture meet.
The Visible River Aquarium is where kids can see animals you might just find in the Sacramento River, which is an important part of the local ecosystem!
You can venture into a cave and see bats, spiders, and other species that have adapted to cave life, or you can explore the history gallery and see what life was like for early settlers. Discover why people moved to the region, and see for yourself if you have what it takes to be a settler too!
Then you have the animal programs at Turtle Bay Exploration Park. There are over 64 different species of animals who live in the park, with most being rescued and all non-releasable, but native to North America. Kids can learn about animals at the Survival Indoor Animal Show, or the Aquatic Adventures!
Kids can see a whole range of animals, from the grey fox, to the North American beaver, birds of prey, and even the bobcat.
We haven't even begun to tell you about the gardens yet!
There is SO much to see and do at Turtle Bay Exploration Park, you just need to experience it for yourselves to really appreciate everything that is on offer!
