Totter’s Ottervile is located within Johnny’s Toys but don’t let that give you ideas about it’s size: this place is enormous and has a tremendous variety of educational play options for all ages up to 10 both indoors and out.
Roleplay settings inculde Mail Station, Grocery Store, play houses, Dance Studio, Florists, Vet Clinic, Dinosaur Dig, Construction Zone and diner all with dress up and equipment.
Entertainment is covered with the puppet shows and story time, plus show programming at the outdoor amphitheatre. Face painting also available.
Play rooms include trains, miniatures, puppet play, water table, art project studio, giant peg boards, conveyor belt and block room. There is also a tots’ room which is specifically designed for guests under 18 months.
The outdoor spray and play zone is great for summer, as is the outdoor maze the evening campfires. Outside you can also find the large adventure playground with toddler version beside it.
Store is for sale, for four million. The building is over 80 percent empty, only train department and a very few toys, and otterville.Rebuilding? Not if it is for sale and been empty for months and months. We loved this store and have shopped there for over 40 years. Update—–May 1,2010, train department is closing down and being moved to 3439 Decoursey Ave, Covington, Ky. Tim’s Trains and Hobbies, opening around May 1st. So Johnny’s Toys will have Otterville, aka Chuckie Cheese, that is about all. The toys that are left are a disgrace to Johnny’s founders.
