The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is an amazingly popular place for kids to visit - it's actually one of the city's most visited! Nature and science come alive, and a number of fun and interesting exhibits are waiting to be enjoyed.

Do you love those colorful butterflies that flutter around you with their delicate wings? The Jusy Istock Butterfly Haven is a place where kids can stand spellbound as they experience a butterfly just emerging from it's chrysalis from the very first time. With over 1,000 butterflies, it's an amazing tropical retreat!
You might be in Chicago, but that doesn't stop you exploring the rainforest! With multi-sensory exhibits, kids can learn all about the rainforests, and most importantly how people can make a difference in saving them. You might even encounter a rainforest animal or two!
For those little kids, the hands-on habitat allows them to explore the secret world of animals homes. From an underground cave to a giant roped spider web - they will be busy climbing, crawling and learning!

The museum was created to educate all who visit on the environment, and importantly how to look after it
There is a cafe with locally made snacks as well as drinks
They have fun family and childrens programs (and an extra cost) where you can learn languages and crafts!
The gift shop has great nature and science themed gifts, as well as educational items.
What a great place for students to learn! You can take a self-guided field trip, or they can come to you!
