If you want your next family day out to go off with a BANG, why not visit the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History?

This fascinating museum is the USA's ONLY congressionally chartered museum in it's field, and is a really intriguing place to visit!

Kids can learn all about the story of the Atomic Age, and what it means for the planet. There are permanent exhibits, as well as traveling exhibits, the cover a range of topics so the kids can always be learning something new! Some of the exhibits span the early research of nuclear development, and others lok at the peaceful uses of this technology that are being used today.

The family can learn all about the lead up to WWII, and even the Cold War. They can learn about the modern-day advances in nuclear medicine, and even look to the future and see what it has in store!

The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is a place where kids of all ages can understand Nuclear Science, and it can give them a perspective of the world that will really open their mind, and allow them to understand all of the possibilities!

Make sure you check out the temporary exhibits, and what's on, because you won't want to miss out on some of the topics that you can explore!

The Heritage Park at the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is also a must see. Here, kids can come face to face with real life planes, missiles, rocks and cannons in this outdoor space. They can even see a nuclear sub sail! Pretty cool!

Grab something to eat in the area before or after your day out!

Keep an eye on events that they hold across the year, such as Veterans Day Camp, and Nuclear Science Week!

Bring that pocket money, because there is a museum store FILLED with great merchandise, as well as historic and educational items.

The Museum runs a science summer camp program within the state, with 300 day-campers learning about ecology, robotics, flight, engineering, medicine and general science. Pretty cool!
