Choo Choo - all aboard for your family day out in Tucson, Arizona! Get those conductor hats on, because we're off to the GPD Toy Train Museum!
What started as a privately owned collection, is now open to the public so all those train lovers in the family can come and see some pretty unique, fascinating and rare locomotives.
The GPD Toy Train Museum contains great displays of unique and sometimes rare examples of rail hobby and railroadiana as well. These exhibits change periodically to offer new insights into this fascinating hobby with each visit. So there is always something new for you to see!
One prize piece of railroad memorabilia is the Centralized Traffic Control console donated by the Southern Pacific Transportation Co. It's pretty special!
The Museum's walls are even adorned with framed railroad art in all forms, including photographs, prints, graphic arts, line art, to name a few, to create a nice old fashioned atmosphere. Don't forget to look at it all as you walk around!
The museum hosts fun shows and swap meets across the year, which are always open to the public, and let you really immerse yourself in the world of trains.
Keep an eye out for their large scale railroad outside the museum - it's going to be special!
