Nothing can match the excitement of being near live birds of prey to grab a student's attention and create teachable moments. Birds of prey can easily be used to meet a variety of state science standards, and our staff can focus the program based on your curriculum needs.
Classroom Visits: The Center for Birds of Prey education staff can bring birds of prey directly to your school for an exciting and informative education program. Students can observe birds of prey up-close as the Center educators use inquiry methods and hands-on objects to provide students with an interactive educational experience. The programs also typically include a flying demonstration, allowing students to observe flight behaviors first-hand.
On-site Visits: On-site programs may be scheduled Tuesday - Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. During the program, students will see birds of prey from all over the world as the education staff uses inquiry methods to provide students with an interactive educational experience. The students are then brought to the Center's flying field for a flight demonstration with live raptors in which the students will observe flight behaviors of a variety of birds of prey, including owls, hawks, falcons and eagles.
Just give them a call to discuss the accessibility of the experiences and grounds, they will be happy to help!
