About this activity

Before you even look at the works of art inside the Taubman Museum of Art, you can enjoy an incredible appreciate of artistry just by looking at the architecture of the museum itself! Can you spot how the architect has incorporated all the naturalistic elements of the Roanoke region within the design?

Then, once inside, you can explore 11 galleries as part of the Fralin Center for American Art, and the 15 to 20 exhibitions per year! You can introduce the family to some notable artists from all around the country, and keep the artistic exploration going into the permanent collections too!

Didn't think an art museum was a place for children? Think again! The Taubman Museum of Art offers a hands-on creative experience for kids in Art Venture - suited for those under 17 years!

Art Venture is a hands-on interactive gallery and art center that is fun for EVERYONE! You can paint a portrait, play a musical painting, design a chair, stage a puppet show, drive a circus wagon, or create a creature made of clay

The Taubman Museum of Art offer several special workshops, classes and exhibitions across the year (which have a small fee)

Are you excited to be creatively inspired by some incredibly talented artists? Great, because the Taubman Museum of Art (and it's FREE admission!) is waiting for you!
