About this activity

History, cars and hands-on science fun at all major features at the Sloan Museum in Flint, and perfect for those inquisitive minds and bodies!

Did you know that you can discover Flint and Genesee County history, as well as historic automobiles and learn through play at those hands-on science exhibits?

Kids can utilize the dramatic settings, video programs and hundreds of artifacts and photographs that portray the area's tumultuous 20th century history - including the Flint Sit-Down Strike of 1936-37! Pretty cool!

The museum not only has collections that stay year round so you can keep going back again and again, but they also have great traveling exhibits which means there is always something new to go back to!

These traveling exhibits fill the Temporary Gallery with a variety of educational and entertaining displays year-round. Kids might come face to face with artifacts from the Titanic, or learn all about the history of General Motors and it's life within Flint.

Across the year these exhibits change, so make sure you keep an eye on what there is to enjoy so you don't miss out!

Love cars? Vroom Vroom - head to the Buick Automotive Gallery where you can see major automotive exhibits featuring vehicles from the Sloan fleet of over 80 Flint-built automobiles. Pretty cool!

For those playful kids int he family, the Sloan Museum features Wisner's Whizbang Emporium, an interactive gallery designed for young and old to play together. There's nothing quite like learning though play! You can wonder at toys from the past as those little ones shop for food in the mini grocery store, and cook in the play kitchen! You can take a wheel in the climb-on ambulance, or play a board game, or maybe discover a book together!

You can even throw some history in there and wonder at toys from the past as those little tykes "shop" for food and "prepare" a meal. Maybe they want to play a board game or discover a book together!

It's history, fun, and fascination for the whole family - what will you learn today!?
