About this activity

Visiting a country is one way to learn a new culture, and a great experience for kids to expand their horizons. But, if you can't leave the city, find the culture within it!

The Seattle Chinese Garden is a great example of how the family and kids can immerse themselves in a different culture to their own. Here, you have 5 acres of hilltop gardens to explore, and learn about. The gardens are all unique, and filled with amazing features, from courtyards, to plants and pavilions.

The gardens are in the style of the Sichuan province, and actually designed and built by Chinese artisans, so you will actually feel like you have transported to China!

The Seattle Chinese Gardens are an amazing, peaceful distraction from the hustle and bustle of a lively city. It also makes for a great family day out, and a day out with a difference.

When you arrive, visit the visitors center to get your bearings, and to get some more information on the gardens themselves. Then, you can enjoy a self-guided tour around the amazing, and intricate sites. Watch out for the plant guides along the way, as it's not just the culture you can learn about!

If you want to learn more through a guide, then they do have guided tour schedules.

So why not enjoy a family day out with a difference. It's just like going to the park...only in Asia!

A great cultural experience in the vibrant city of Seattle!
