We all know about Scouts, and likely many of us WERE scouts, so why not re-live those memories at the Lawrence L Lee Scouting Museum in New Hampshire!
This fun museum features a unique collection of Boy Scout memorabilia from across New Hampshire, as well as the USA and the entire world!
What began back in 1969 with 1,100 sa ft has now grown into what is now a great insight into the history of Scouting from across the decades. You'll find exhibits looking at a whole range of history, from Scouts on Stamps, to original paintings depicting Boy's Life Covers, and even a flag carried to the moon by America's first astronaut (and New Hampshire Scout Alan Shepard)
The Baden-Powell display features letters, sketches and Boer War memorabilia, and is one of the finest collections of this notable Boy Scout founder anywhere in the world.
There are uniforms through the ages, badges, and even two beads from the necklace of Zulu Chief Dinizulu which were used in the early Wood badge awards.
Who knew Scouting had SUCH a fascinating history - but it does and that history really does warrant its own museum!
The museum also features a library with many periodicals, yearbooks, and both fiction and non-fiction that are often of interest to Scouts and Scouters.
So let's all enjoy the largest Scouting collection in the entire Northeast - and just remember - always be prepared!
