There are two floors of science-tastic experiences to explore at the Science Museum of Western Virginia - are you excited to hear about some now?
What if we told you that you can interact with Virginia geological specimens, or become an on-air meteorologist in the weather studio? You can even augment mountains and make it rain!
Kids can learn about healthy bodies as they send foam "blood cells" racing through arteries, and see what lies beneath skin in a "plastinated" human with REAL human organs!
WonderLab invites guests of all ages to learn the basics of programming or coding in an open learning environment, or experience larger than life version of toys, wth HUGE Lego, and HUGE building blocks, and a Colossal Kaleidoscope!
You can uncover how things work as you explore the scientific method of engineering, and even experience an amazing gravity-driven obstacle course, and preschoolers will be in their element in a multisensory play space designed for those under 5 years, with toys, games, books and plenty of places to play!

They have fun every day at the museum but sometimes they have EXTRA fun! They have regular monthly events as well as a range of special events for all ages, including science and summer camps! Investigate their events calendar for more details.

The museum is located on the 4th and 5th floors of Center in the Square in downtown Roanoke
The Science Museum has nearly 40 different programs they can deliver to your students, either on site or in your own classroom. Their educators are well acquainted with the SOL’s that guide your curriculum throughout the school year, so give them a call in advance to arrange!
