About this activity

The Route of the Hiawatha is the "Crown Jewel" of rail-to-trail mountain bicycle trails in the USA. The 15 mile long Hiawatha Trail utilizes the abandoned Milwaukee railroad grade, near Lookout Pass Ski Area, which has been described as one of the most scenic stretches of railroad in the country.

The Hiawatha includes 10 tunnels and 7 sky high trestles along the crest of the beautiful Bitterroot Mountains. The 1.66 mile long St. Paul Pass tunnel is a highlight of the trail. The best part is.... it's all a gentle downhill ride with shuttle buses at the bottom trailhead ready to take you and your bike back to the top.

The experience delivers a one of a kind adventure for families and riders from around the world. Lookout Pass Ski Area serves as the operations center and is located right alongside Interstate 90 at the Idaho/Montana state line, 12 miles east of historic Wallace, Idaho.
