About this activity

Are you a HUGE fan of art?  Of all the colours, techniques and artists....or do you just think its super cool to look at?  Either way, the RISD Museum of Art is the perfect place for you and your whole family to spend a day taking in all the incredibly creative pieces of work that talented artists have produced.

There are a huge collection of art from all the way back in ancient times (they were artists too!), to the present day.

There is such a range of fascinating galleries - from Ancient Greek and Roman, to a beautiful costume and textile section.   Incredible paintings....artistic photographs....and REALLY ancient art (thats super old!) are all on display for the whole family to enjoy, and learn from.

The Museum really caters for the whole family.  There are tours specially designed for the little ones aged 3 - 5 (you can be an art critic at any age!) which allows them to be really interactive with the art, and enjoy the fun read-aloud story time.  There is a great and creative hands on sketching activity for those aged 6 and up, and a fun and inspirational Family Open Studio where the whole family can create together.  All of these you can just drop in when you get there - no need to book ahead!

It's an arty good time!
