About this activity

Where you do want to go for your family day out? A candy factory...um....YES!

Well, just as well the Rebecca Ruth Candy Factory offers tours for the whole factory, where you can experience a real working candy factory right in the heart of Frankfort, Kentucky.

Did you know that Rebecca Ruth's Candy Factory is the home of the world famous Bourbon Chocolates? In fact, they are know as the "Inventor of Bourbon Candy"!

The tours are conducted in a real factory with actual candy manufacturing going on, so be mindful when you arrive you are essentially guests in the factory workers home. They have very important jobs to do, otherwise there would be no candy for families just like you!

The tours will give you an amazing insight into how candy is actually produced, and how it gets to the stores so you can enjoy it (after all, imagine Halloween if they didn't work out how to make it!)

Kids will get a kick out of hearing the stories, and be able to ask any questions along the way.

The history of Ruth is fascinating too!

Did you know that it was all the way back in 1919 that two teachers called Rebecca and Ruth (who knew!?) decided that they in fact weren't very good teachers, but loved giving chocolates as presents.

Loving this idea, they went into business and co-founded a candy enterprise!

See, it's not just amazing facts about candy you'll learn on the Rebecca Ruth Candy Tour...there is history to boot!

Now...all we have to think about now is how much we can carry away with us at the end of the tour when we hit the gift shop!
