If you love nature then get ready for some of Kentucky's finest! Raven Run Nature Sanctuary is a wonderfull unique, 734-acre nature sanctuary that is dedicated to preserving the amazing natural beauty of the Kentucky River Palisades as well as early Kentucky history too! 

At the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary you'll find over 10 miles of hiking trails so it's perfect for those outdoor loving, adventurous families! The trails will take you through some incredibly beautiful landscapes, including streams, meadows and woodlands which are all characteristic of the area.

If you keep those eyes peeled you might just spot 19th century remnants of early settlers dotted throughout the nature sanctuary, as well as over 600 species of plants!

It's this kind of learning experience that will allow kids to really understand how delicate and beautiful the ecosystem is - and this is just in Kentucky! They will also leave with an appreciation of the natural world.

Did you know that Raven Run Nature Sanctuary also accommodates over 200 species of birds throughout the year? Make sure you look up just as much as you look out across the trails!

Raven Run Nature Sanctuary FAQ’s

They offer a concession service in summer! You can always take your own food though, but only picnic in designated areas

They have roughly 10 miles of trail at Raven Run. The Red Trail is the main trail off of which most points of interest can be reached. Just stop in at the Nature Center and grab a free map before you head out on the trails!

Make sure you take plenty of water, especially if you're hiking

They have one paved trail which is the Freedom Trail. The entrance to the Freedom trail is located off of the visitor parking lot.

They don't allow pets
