About this activity

Are you excited to take a journey back in time and experience life in an 1890s logging camp?

Great, because we're off to the Paul Bunyan Logging Camp Museum, where you can not only re-live this fascinating part of Wisconsin history, but you can also channel your inner Lumberjack too!

During your time at this fun museum, you can navigate your way through the historic structures that show you just how life would have been like in a logging camp over 100 years ago. You can see the blacksmith shop (now kids, what do you think happens there?), as well as the barn, and the heavy equipment shed.

There's also a bunkhouse to explore and see how people slept, as well as the cook shanty, filer's shack, wanigan (if you want to know what that is, just visit and ask!) as well as the foreman's office.

Don't miss a chance to get your photo taken with the larger-than-life Paul Bunyan himself, and his faithful blue ox, Babe.

Also at the museum is "reel" footage of 1800s logging in the theatre, which is a great way for kids to actually SEE what life was like! Do you think you would have had what it takes to live life as a 19th century Lumberjack?

It's history all around you at the Paul Bunyan Logging Camp Museum - so let's go back in time and explore!
