What a venue. With performers rehearsing in communal places, with cafes, libraries and exhibitions across the building and a lovely view from the level 5 terrace this is a must visit destination for anyone looking to enjoy a stroll down Southbank. And for performances, this place is right up there as a well designed theatre. With good views from right across the seats, top notch acoustics beautiful decor, it makes an event into an occasion.

One of the most accessible music venues in London. Tickets are often cheap and there are various performances to choose from, almost on any day of the year. Make sure you know which side and door is yours as it can be complicated to find your seat otherwise.

I rarely give 5 stars to anything but the Royal Festival Halls deserves each one. Few other places in the UK nurture the arts and bring together people from all walks of life in the way this place does. I have seen free gigs, sat in the cafe with a good book, met friends in the communal areas, seen theatre, very lively dance groups.. It’s always so full of life.

Great event space, I saw Tim Berners Lee talk here and got fantastic seats at a really reasonable price. I’ve also knitted here as part of a group who make the most of all the free space in the foyers. Great place to get people together – also there is a balcony area with great views over the water (think it’s on the 3rd floor?).
