About this activity

Who wants a fun day out in nature - we certainly do! At Palmetto Island State Park, there is a host of fun activities for the family to enjoy, making it SO much more than just a park!

Palmetto Island State Park is perfect for all ages, and gives kids a place to run around, have fun, and enjoy the sun. But it's not just grassy areas that will greet them!

A great place to start is the nature/visitor center, where you can find out all of the information about the park, the things you can do, and find out the best places for you to visit.

If you have your own boat, there is a super fun boat launch where you can take to the waters from, or even enjoy some fishing! A great way for families to just relax and spend time together.

Don't worry if you don't have your own boat - there is boat rental too! Of course, it's not just boats that you can rent. Why not explore the interior land lagoons by kayak or canoe - you can rent those too!

For the kids there is even more fun with a playground, where they can use up those last little bits of their energy after all day exploring. They can even learn all about history and nature with the programs that the state park offer.

There are trails if you want to bring your hiking boots and really get out to explore, and of course, that water playground! Especially great on those hot days, kids can spend time playing in the water spray, and really enjoying a COOL family day out!

We told you that Palmetto Island State Park was SO much more than a park!
