About this activity

Are you ready to take on an adventure into the heart of Galena Mountain! This Colorado adventure will take you inside the earth with a one hour guided tour with One Hundred Gold Mine!

One Hundred Gold Mine Tours will take you 1/3 mile into the heart of the 13,000 foot mountain, where you can actually see real mining equipment in action!

Kids can learn all about the secret world of the gold miner, and a great way to learn about history too.

The tours are only minutes from the historic town of Silverton, and the mine is accessible by car or RV so no excuses!

The One Hundred Gold Mine actually began all the way back in 1872, when three brothers arrived from Germany to make their fortune. It changed hands a number of times, and eventually wasn't turning profit, but luckily for you is now a place where you can see the underground work of those miners rarely seen by "outsiders"!

You adventure isn't all underground either. Outside the mine, there is incredible scenery to enjoy, and kids will love panning for real copper, silver, and even gold! The best part? You get to keep what you find, and the panning is FREE with your admission!

During your experience at One Hundred Gold Mine, you get to ride a vintage electric powered mine train, see all the colorful crystals and minerals in the tunnels that have been blasted by hand, and even see an amazing 1904 Old Hundred Boarding House that is perched RIGHT on the edge of a 2,000 foot cliff! Eeek!

Great historic fun in Colorado!
