If your family loves art, or loves to be inspired, then it's worth a visit to the Norton Simon Museum. This Pasadena art museum is known as one of the world's most incredible private art collections ever assembled - so let's get inspired!
Norton Simon was an industrialist that lived in the 20th century, and over his lifetime he collected an incredible amount of art. He had pieces from Renaissance Europe, and he had modern art from the 20th century.
He also had some incredible pieces from Asia that spanned over 2,000 years! Even the younger kids will know some of the artist names, including Van Gogh and Raphael.
Now, you can see his collection at the Norton Simon Museum, with over 1,000 works alone in the permanent collection! There are a number of galleries that hold all of the art, as well as a sculpture garden.
Within the exhibition space, there are also two temporary exhibits so you can always see something new on your visit.
It's not just paintings within the art collection either. There are prints, photographs, sculptures and even tapestries that the kids can admire. The museum is more suited to the older kids, where they can really appreciate the techniques and the colors used by some of the greatest artists in the world.
Particularly great for those kids interested in art, or who study art, this Pasadena collection certainly lives up to it's name as one of the best in the world!
