About this activity

Only three hours from Seattle, North Cascades National Park is truly a stunning destination for an outdoor adventure! This alpine landscape is incredibly diverse, from jagged peaks covered in over 300 glaciers, to cascading waters in forested valleys, and year round adventures for the family.

The visitor centers are the best place to start your adventure, where you can enjoy interpretive talks, walk with a ranger, and make a plan for your time surrounded by scenic vistas and outdoor adventure!

Kids can discover the animals that live in the park with the wildlife viewing opportunities, and those adventurous kids will love getting those hiking boots on and taking to the various miles of hiking trails.

Traverse the park by bike or car, relax and have a picnic, or stay and camp for a while! If you are feeling really adventurous, explore the wilderness for a premier backpacking or climbing adventure.

Have a horse? Great, there are plenty of trails to enjoy horseback riding! If you love fishing, there are plenty of lake and river opportunities for that too!

Ranger-led tours are regularly scheduled during the summer, and in winter although many operations are limited, you can still enjoy a number of activities (but take care)

A beautiful part of Washington state, and with FREE admission to the park, all you have to worry about it how many adventures you can fit into your day!
