About this activity

Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry is actually one of the largest science museums in the WORLD, with more than 35,000 artifacts and nearly 14 acres of hands-on exhibits designed to spark scientific inquiry and creativity.

That is quite a family day out, so are you ready for the adventure?

Kids can see how technology is transforming our clothes to enhance our lives, and experience a real U-505 Submarine - the ONLY Germany submarine in the USA!

Baby chicks make an appearance in the Baby Chick Hatchery, where you can discover the complex variables that produce new life, and the family can collaborate in a fast paced simulation to create a more sustainable city!

Uncover the physics and chemistry in natural phenomena like tornados and avalanches, and even follow the story of man's quest to travel the seas through the Museum of Science and Industry's collection of model ships!

There are passenger trains, experimental exhibits for young children, exhibits on transportation history (including an opportunity to travel from Chicago to Seattle in intricate details on a massive model railroad!) a coal mine to descend, and even discover mathematical patterns within the natural world in a mirror maze!

Yes kids, there is even a Fairy Castle too!

It's hands-on fun for the whole family at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry, with a world of science, technology and history just waiting to be discovered!
