Recently renovated, the museum now boasts up to date technology and interactive exhibits as well as over 200 artifacts. The site is historically breath-taking, and still clearly displays the remnants of the second largest Indian settlement in America, occupied from around A.D. 1000 until A.D. 1450. Both the museum and grounds wonderfully depict the lives of the Mississippian tribes, and provides wonderful entertainment and stunning nature trails for any family that loves the outdoors (Bicycles are welcome!). Also visit the cafe and gift shop, that boast specialty Indian and Black Warrior coffees, teas and gifts. Camping is also available on the site. The park is also famous for its Moundville Native American Festival, visit the website for more details.
