The world is a wonderful place, and space is an amazing place (of what we know about it!) - so why not get the whole family exploring it ALL at Michigan's Museum of Natural History!? Located in the Cranbrook Institute of Science, this hands-on and interactive experience is perfect for the whole family to learn AND have fun!

How about we start with SPACE! The Acheson Planetarium allows you to experience and explore our amazing universe - and there is a LOT to explore! With state of the art star projectors and 360 degree experiences, you will see the sky like you never have before! 

Bats! No, we haven't gone batty - we mean those cute little creatures that hang upside down. The Organization for Bat Conservation give you a behind the scenes look at those amazing creatures.

All of the creatures that are in the Bat Zone - including skunks, owls, and even sloths, are injured or orphaned, so cannot be released into the wild, but are well cared for an give children a great opportunity to get up close to these sweet animals and learn all about the environment and conservation. 

Do you have a few green thumbs in the family? (We don't mean those creative kiddies with the paintbrush!) The Erb Family Science Garden has a number of features and plants which can introduce you to the beauty of nature.

Don't forget about those 11 permanent galleries which teach children SO many thing! They can step back into the ice age, or discover objects from the Great Lakes of North America, and find out what happened to those impressive Mastodons. 

With shows and programs to top off your learning experience, Michigan's Museum of Natural History will certainly leave you knowing so much about our amazing planet!
